Affirming therapy for Trans, Non-Binary, Queer & Neurodivergent teens and adults

Real support. No performance. Just a place to be you.

I believe in meeting people where they are and partnering with clients to find creative pathways through stuck places. I value the therapeutic relationship and believe safety and connection are the foundation for healing.

As a queer, trans therapist, I understand what it means to navigate the world with parts of yourself that aren’t always seen or respected — and how powerful it can be to find a space where you don’t have to explain or minimize who you are. Therapy with me is about co-creating that space together: where nothing is off the table, where your identity is affirmed, and where we move at a pace that feels safe and grounding for you.

Group of friends holding LGBTQ+ flag. Devyn Box Therapy provides affirming therapy for trans, non-binary, queer & neurodivergent teens and adults.

What you can expect

At Devyn Box Therapy, we work virtually with adults and teens (ages 12–65), offering warm, trauma-informed care tailored to their goals, identities, and experiences. I also support parents and family members who want to understand better how to show up for the LGBTQIA+ young person in their lives.

Therapy here might look like:

  • Navigating what it means to come out to family

  • Managing day-to-day experiences of discrimination or dysphoria

  • Building safety and connection in your body

  • Talking through the logistics and emotions around gender-affirming care

  • Creating a family safety plan for handling transphobia

  • Exploring what’s next in your identity, your life, or your healing

We don’t rush the process and don’t pretend that therapy is one-size-fits-all. You’ll get a say in what we do, why we’re doing it, and how we pace it. Transparency and collaboration matter, especially in a world where power differences often go unchecked.

For teens and their families

I work with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent teens navigating identity, relationships, and emotional overwhelm. I also support family members — especially parents — who want to learn how to better affirm and connect with their teen.

You might come to therapy for:

  • Support around gender identity and expression

  • Help navigating school, friends, or social dysphoria

  • Exploring neurodivergence and how to build more understanding at home

  • Conversations about transition steps

  • Family education, resources, and planning

Parents: If you’re unsure where to start, that’s okay. I’ll meet you where you are and help you show up for your teen in informed, compassionate, and truly supportive ways.

Supervision, speaking, and training

In addition to client work, I offer:

  • Clinical supervision for professionals in Colorado and Texas

  • Training and consultation for clinicians wanting to work with trans, queer, and neurodivergent populations

  • Workshops and public speaking on gender-affirming care, neurodiversity, and trauma-informed practice

  • Recently led training on supporting trans refugees and inclusive care for LGBTQIA+ clients

  • Recorded training available: Supporting Transgender Interstate Refugees—a 2-hour, on-demand course for clinicians providing gender-affirming, trauma-informed care. Access here

Feel free to reach out if you’re a therapist looking for supervision or a professional interested in training for your organization. I’d love to connect.
